Browns restaurant is one of my favourite places to eat out at knowing you are fully content by the time you leave through their doors. If you want to see my previous reviews of Browns’ desserts check out this link.
I was recently invited down to the Leeds one in The Light to try out their Christmas Menu with a good friend of mine! When we arrived and shown to our seats, we were given Christmas crackers! This just got the festive ball rolling for the rest of the evening along with some softails. Mine was a rather nice sweet punch but my friends’ berry number wasn’t her fave. This did not dampen our rather lavish evening though! We had so much to catch up on!
For starters I had the ‘Honey Roast Pumpkin Soup’ accompanied with some crusty bread. This was oh so filling and yummy. Perfect for the wintry day that I had earlier too.
My friend had the ‘Severn and Wye Valley Smoked Salmon’ which was presented beautifully and was indeed yummy. A very light starter that opened up an appetite for the main course.
For the main I had the ‘Roast breast of turkey’ with orange/cranberry stuffing ad redcurrant gravy. I opted not to have the pigs in blanket as I don’s eat pork. The meat was tasty, cooked to perfection and what you’d expect a Christmas meal to be like. I love cranberries sooo much! With every main you get roasted potatoes, roast parsnips, curly kale, brussel sprouts and carrots. The veg all came in one plate for us both to share. If I had to be picky maybe I would have preferred it to be separate or on each of our plates.
My friend chose the ‘Roast Fillet of Salmon with Herb Crust’. It had braised cabbage, apple and beetroot dressing which she loved. The puff pastry was extremely large and most definitely filling. Did we have room for dessert? Of course we did!
I rave so much about their famously gorgeous brownies but it was not on this festive menu unfortunately. The great thing however is that you could order what you like and mix and match especially the vegetarian/vegan options. In the end I chose the Browns Eton mess which was the same one as I reviewed earlier in the year here. My friend chose the Salted Caramel Profiteroles with orange and cranberry cream… yum! Such a festive pudding don’t you think?
The festive menu is available for Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years so do check out what they have to offer at a Browns near you!
I enjoyed this filling 3 course meal which costs £35 per person*. A decent price for a family or work meal with friends.
Are you going to be paying Browns a visit for this Holiday Season?
